Strange Turn of Events

Wow ow Wow! I guess a person never ever knows what life is going to dish out. On November 19, 2010 I had a little stroke. I was getting ready for our ward's FALL BALL (which is an event our young women wanted to do instead of a FALL FEAST this year) when all of a sudden I couldn't get my words to come out and my mouth went down on the left side. My counselors in the young women presidency and my advisors recognized what was happening and one of them called 911. I was ambulanced to the hospital and a CT SCAN was done. From there I was flown in a helicopter to Mesa where I stayed at Mountain Vista hospital for the rest of that day and the next day. At 10 pm I was ambulanced to ST. Joseph's hospital in Phoenix. I was there for 6 more days.
I spent thanksgiving in the hospital. My family was wonderful! All my kids in the phoenix area and even Buddy and Sara who live in California were at Mountain vista hospital to greet me. Ted drove down and stayed with me during the entire duration of my hospital stays. I had test after test after test as they tried to determine why this happened to me. For 2 days I was put into ICU and told to lay flat while they increased my blood pressure to get rid of the blockage that had occured in the top right portion of my brain.
When I got out of the hospital the day after thanksgiving Ted and I stayed at Lindsey's apartment for a few hours then we went to MaryAnn's and stayed for a couple of days. Our family had a thanksgiving dinner at MaryAnn's saturday evening. I have such wonderful kids and I appreciate so much everyone's thoughtfulness.
Now I am back in Eagar and I am trying to slow down my life. I have hired 2 more people to run the bookstore and I am attempting to cut things out of my life and DE STRESS myself!

SUMMER 2010 was amazing!

Wow! The summer was fast and furious for our family. We started off by going to Page, Arizona. Ted had a training to attend for his work and I took my sewing machine and sewed barbie doll clothes. My parents drove down from Idaho and stayed with us there. It was a very good time. Then Ted and Dallin attended the Fathers and Sons outing in our ward. The next day was the dedication of the Gila Valley Temple. It was broadcast into our stake center and we loved going to that. Dallin had his 16th birthday next and what an exciting day it ws for him. We planned a surprise party for him at Haws Park and invited some of his friends. Next came TAPP. (the 2nd annual one). It was held at Roosevelt Lake and Ted had reserved an SRP house. It was a blast to be together with everyone and enjoy the family and the lake together. Buddy brought his boat and Lindsey and MaryAnn brought their jetski. Trisha was having some trouble with her boat so she didn't bring it this time. A highlight of TAPP for me was attending the Tonto branch of the LDS church on sunday and then having a testimony meeting afterwards when we got back to the SRP house. I love the gospel so much and sharing my feelings with my children, whom I also LOVE, is just really special to me. I loved hearing their testimonies. We don't often get to hear each other testimonies since we all live in different wards so we decided it would be a good tradition to share them at TAPP once a year.
Dallin completed his Eagle Scout project next and during it's completion an airplane crashed into our high school and started it on fire. All the passengers were killed. It was a sad day in Eagar and the repairs are still on going at this time to get the High School repaired. During all the events I have mentioned, I was doing the MEPPERS GET HEALTHY Challenge. Dallin got his drivers license on JUNE 25, 2010! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! A good friend of ours, Todd Bosen, died this summer and left the whole town very sad indeed. We will certainly miss Todd. Our prayers are with Julie and the rest of the family. Ted and I made a trip to Phoenix to load all the scout bags for their National Scout Jamboree onto a train so they could be shipped out to Virginia. We got to stay with Lindsey in her new apartment in downtown Phoenix. It was fun to stay with her.
Next on the list was MEP. It was held at Palisades Dam in Idaho this year and I traveled there with MaryAnn in her truck. We joint traveled with Tyson and Kim and their kids. It was a fun MEP with a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for swimming ,shopping, and fun. MaryAnn and Tyson's family stayed the week after MEP in Idaho and Utah and we all went to Lagoon one day. The Haws Reunion was next in Park City, Salt Lake City, and Provo. My neice, Tara Torgrimson made our stay in Park City very wonderful. She reserved us a hotel room in a very nice resort that had a private pool table, private jazzuzi, and a bath tub that was filled from the ceiling! It was amazing! Lindsey joined us in Park City and was with us for the Haws reunion. Everyone but me went back to Arizona after the Haws reunion and I stayed with my parents in Idaho for another week and then went to the LDS Booksellers Convention in Sandy, Utah.
During my travels in Idaho and Utah Ted and Dallin were traveling in the Eastern states. They toured historical sites in Boston, Pennsylvania, New York, etc...Then they attended the National Scout Jamboree and celebrated the 100th anniversary of scouting in the U.S. It was a very memorable trip for them.
Ted flew to Salt Lake when he returned from Virginia and we attended the last day of the booksellers convention together and then drove back to Arizona.
So as you can see, our summer was AMAZING this year. Now you have our update!

Ted went to a training for 4 days in Page, Arizona last week. (May 10-13) This is a picture of him and the two guys who attended the training with him. They are at the Page Power Plant which is Navajo Generating Station. I went along for fun and my parents drove down from Preston, Idaho to spend a few days with us. It was very fun!!

On Tour with Dallin's Choir

Ted and I were chaperone's for Dallin's Choir to go on TOUR over Spring Break. (We went on a cruise!) They performed 5 times and two of them were on the Cruise Ship! They got on the ship at Long Beach, CA and had stops at Catalina Island and Ensenata, Mexico. It was a blast and the pictures above will show you a bit of what it was like. Enjoy!
